Group members conducted acoustic measurement at the First Primary School of Hunnan District, Shenyang

As the basic data investigation content of the Liaoning Provincial Science and Technology Plan Project (Applied Basic Research Plan): “Key technology and structure system research and development of integrated design of acoustic environment for primary and secondary school building envelope” (2023JH3/101300027), and also as the acoustic measurement content of the master’s degree project of Yang (M22) and Hanyu (M22), from May 1st to May 3rd. Yang, Hanyu, Zhenghong (M23), Wenyuan (M23), Wanqi (M23), and Xinhao (M18/D23) carried out detailed acoustic measurements on the No.1 Primary School in Hunnan District, Shenyang.

The field measurements covered a wide range of teaching spaces including general classrooms, specialised classrooms (art, dance, music, multimedia), recording classrooms, multi-functional classrooms, and gymnasiums, and measured comprehensive acoustic indicators including classroom sound quality, airborne sound isolation, impact sound isolation, and sound reinforcement systems.

Next, our team will continue to conduct acoustic measurements in other schools to accumulate more comprehensive data for the in-depth study of this topic and to help the two master’s degree students to advance their projects.
